Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh regularly organizes free health camps for the rural poor. Such a health camp was organized on 28 February 2019, at Ward number 1, Khidirpara, Louhojong Upazila of Munshigonj District. The camp was organized in collaboration with Rotary Club of Bikrampur (District 3281). The health team consisted of a Medicine Specialist Dr. Md. Nurul Gani, Gynecologist Dr. Fatema Zohra, Cancer Specialist Dr. Habibullah Talukder Ruskin, Alternative Medicine Specialist Dr. Samir Kumar Saha, Imaging Specialist Dr. Farjana Yeasmin, Public Health Scientist Dr. Taufique Joarder, a young Pharmacist Jannatul Ferdous Asha. Two experienced nursing staff conducted the VIA test for cervical cancer screening of the females. Five out of 49 screened patients were found positive for cervical cancer. These patients were referred to Dhaka for more advanced tests. Dr. Ruskin conducted awareness session on cervical and other forms of cancer. Other team members provided free medical consultation and distributed free medicines. ACME Laboratories Limited supported with their vehicles and provided the free medicines. Members of the Rotary Club were responsible for organizing the camp at the local level, and providing all the necessary logistics support. A total of around 400 patients with different health problems were provided with health and medical care and medicines, free of cost. Professor Dr. Nurul Gani and Dr. Samir Kumar Saha from the Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh coordinated the whole event.
