Professor Dr. MSA Mansur Ahmed is now working as Professor and Advisor in the Department of Noncommunicable Diaseases of Bangladesh University of Health Sciences. He obtained his MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College under University of Chittagong, Bangladesh in 1973. He got his MPH degree in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, USA in 1981 as a Fellow of WHO and subsequently obtained PhD. He is also specialized in Diabetology. He is a life member and also member of the International Advisory Committee of the World NCD Federation. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh.
A public Health worker for about four decades, Professor Mansur is experienced as a teacher in Epidemiology, Community Medicine and NCDs and retired from the National Institute of Preventive & Social Medicine (NIPSOM), the apex institute of Public Health in Bangladesh, as the Professor of Community Medicine in 2008. He had been a Consultant of the World Health Organization for a period of five years.
Professor Mansur has remarkable number (about 40) of published articles in peer reviewed national and international scientific journals. He is also working as the member of the Editorial Boards of several national and international scientific journals. He is also a member of the Ethical Review Committee of BMRC. He is a member of the International Epidemiological Association (IEA) and also a founder life member and ex treasurer of the Epidemiological Association of Bangladesh. He is a member of the International Advisory Committee of the World NCD Federation. Prof. Mansur is a life member of American Alumni Association and also Bangladesh Medical Association.
